To create own group Richard Eshkroft has solved, already being the student of college. In starting lineup Verve its interests were divided by its companions on school - bass player Simon Jones and drummer Peter Salisbury. The fourth guitarist Nick McCabe, too the student of college has joined. The high-class pro, McCabe has played an enormous role in creation of unique sound Verve. Owen Morris (Owen Morris), the producer of group Oasis, named it subsequently the most talented musician with whom it had to work. In the musical predilections participants Verve were extremely unanimous: on the first place Beatles, then Funkadelic and Can, and further already every possible psychedelia. Differed unless tastes of McCabe which fanatically listened Joy Division, Led Zeppelin and Pink Floyd.

In rehearsals and grinding in has to each other passed some years. In this time musicians have managed play absolutely original sound it was difficult to them to find analog on a rock scene of that time. Long before the first release the journalists hearing performances Verve, named their sounding "huge" and "immortal". In 1991 the group has signed the contract with company Hut Recordings which has seen «a fluid extract of a rock n roll» in group records.
